How to Stay Looking and Feeling Beautiful

Looking and feeling beautiful is not difficult. A healthy lifestyle is perhaps the most important factor for looking and feeling beautiful. If you abstain from smoking, drinking to excess and overeating, you will be surprised how much better you feel!

Quit Smoking

Though quitting smoking is difficult, after 30 days, the desire to smoke subsides. Some smokers who have quit are the most avid anti-smoking advocates. After that initial 30 day period, ex-smokers can barely stand to be in the same room with cigarette smoke.

Quitting smoking is the Number 1 habit to break if you want to look and feel beautiful. Smoking also causes skin to age faster, deep wrinkles to form, and of course, deadly cancer. Also, there is nothing beautiful about sullen skin and yellow teeth, not to mention the bad breath that accompanies smoking. After quitting smoking for that first 30 day period, you will look and feel like a new person!

Drink Alcohol Sparingly, If At All

Alcohol is another substance that ages the body and skin. In addition, nothing makes you feel worse than having to go to work or accomplish some important task with a hangover.

If you are going to have a drink, make sure you drink in moderation and never overdo it. Sobriety will make you look and feel beautiful. You will have more energy and will not “lose days” to hangovers and over-partying. You will be more productive, which in itself, will make you feel better.

Eat Healthy

Remember the old saying “Garbage in, garbage out.” Simply put, when you eat junk food, fast food and food with very little nutritional value, you are putting garbage in your system. When you feed on junk, you cannot expect to feel your best, look your best or to produce well.Your brain needs good nutrition to operate at an optimum level. When you are able to perform up to your abilities, you will feel better about yourself.

In addition, eating healthy, raw fruits and veggies will make your skin smoother and more supple, and will help keep your weight in control. You will feel better and look better if you consistently eat a healthy diet.

Get Plenty of Exercise

When you exercise, you raise your metabolic rate. If you exercise early in the morning, you will burn about 50% more calories throughout the day, than if you are sedentary throughout the day. If you consistently exercise 30 minutes in the morning, you will be surprised at the effect on your body and mind. If you diet for weight control, you will find that you tend to plateau less often, and the weight is easier to lose.

In addition, exercise is good for the skin. When you perspire, toxins are released from your pores, cleansing your system. Your face will glow as a benefit of regular exercise.

Surround Yourself with Positivity

To look and feel beautiful, you need to surround yourself with positive influences. This includes the people you are around, the books you read, the TV shows you watch and the way you think.

You must keep a positive mental attitude and a positive outlook on life to look and feel your best. Avoid people and situations that drain you or make you feel “less than.” You need to feel good about life to feel good about yourself. When you feel good about yourself, you naturally look more beautiful.

Remember, everyone looks more beautiful when they smile. Make smiling a habit. Smile at strangers and people you interact with during your day. You will be surprised at the response. The reaction of most people, even if it is an unconscious one, is to smile back.

When people smile back at you, it will lift your spirits, making you feel more beautiful. You may just lift someone else’s spirits along the way. You just never know. The person that is on the receiving end of your casual smile may be in dire need of a friendly face.

Gift of Yourself

One of the best ways you can make yourself feel better is to do something for someone else. Gift of yourself. Perform a random act of kindness. You will find that nothing makes you feel as good as doing something for someone else. Doing for others will make you feel good about yourself, and again, when you feel beautiful, you will look more beautiful.

Becky

After being self-employed for a majority of her adult life, Becky cannot imagine her work life being any other way. Just about an empty nester with her husband of over 21 years she enjoys the quiet. BUT sometimes misses the commotion. She is a Mom to 3 adult children, 2 boys and 1 girl (ages 26, 22, and 20 respectively) plus a daughter-in-law almost 25 years old. She is also the proud Grandma (or ma-ma) to Emma who is 6 1/2 years old and Zakary who is almost 2 years old. Becky lives out in the country and only misses the internet that a 'city/town' would offer.
